Objective:

We evaluated the efficacy of group cognitive behavioral therapy for OCD patients.

Method:

All the 13 patients were diagnosed by a psychiatrist & a clinical psychologist based on the DSM-Ⅳ criteria, and assessed before and after treatment using Y-BOCS, MOCI, BDI, BAI, SR, SUDs. The group therapy program was led by one psychiatrist, two clinical psychologists and one psychiatric social worker. During the 16 treatment sessions, patients were given cognitive-behavioral therapy that included explanations and guidance concerning the occurrence and maintenance of obsessive-compulsive symptoms, exposure technique, response prevention of all neutralizing strategies, cognitive restructuring, and relapse prevention. During each session two main therapists discuss with patients regarding appropriate cognitive behavioral tactics and then co-therapists helped each patient practice those tactics.
